personalized gifts for him

A major part of being a Budget Savvy Bride, in my humble opinion, is taking on as many DIY projects as possible in order to save money. If you're thinking about?creating your own invitations, save the dates, and wedding and ceremony signs, you'll want to make sure that you use the font that best matches your theme and personality. Because seriously, folks, the wrong font can make your special invite look like a 5 year old made it in art class. How depressing would that be?

Unfortunately (or fortunately?)unique wedding gifts couple, there are thousands of cheap or free wedding fonts available online. That can make it super difficult to choose the right one. Since you've got your hands full planning your big day, we put together our favorite resources for wedding fonts, as well as a few beautiful fonts from each site.

Before we get to the fonts, though,?we have a couple?helpful tips and tricks:

Now, onto our favorite resources for cheap or free wedding fonts…;…;

Creative Market is an online marketplace for community-generated digital designs. The company helps artists sells graphics, WordPress themes, stock photography, and other digital goods for use by web creatives and crafters. In addition to their fonts, be sure to take a look at their gigantic selection of graphics, icons, and other art pieces you can add to your wedding designs.

Their selection of fonts is huge and prices start at $2, but the following are two of my favorite:

Velvetberries Script?–; $5

Love Struck Script?Handwritten Font?–; $5

Font Squirrel scours the internet for high quality, legitimately free fonts. Just be sure to read the license on each font before you use them, although generally any restrictions are limited to the commercial use of the fonts. My favorite feature is their “;Test Drive”; feature, which allows you to type out some words to see if you like the font. There are many beautiful (and some not-so beautiful) fonts at Font Squirrel, but I like the following four the best:

Scriptina –; Free

Lovers Quarrel –; Free

UpperEastSide –; Free

League Script –; Free

Dafont.com is an archive of freely downloadable fonts, which allows you to browse by alphabetical listing, by style, by author, or by popularity. The fonts presented on this website are their authors' property, and are either freeware, shareware, demo versions or public domain, which allows them to be offered for free. Here are some of my favorites from Dafont.com:

Coffee and Milk –; Free

Paper Daisy –; Free

Princess Ivy –; Free

Beauty and the Beast –; Free

MyFonts is a digital fonts distributor,?which has been selling fonts for 17 years. They offer both free and paid fonts. Much like Font Squirrel, they allow you “;Try Before You Buy,”; which is particularly helpful if you're considering a paid vs. free font. I really like the following two options for wedding signage and stationery:

Typnic Titling –; Free

Naive Fantaisies Medium –; $5

Considering Etsy is *the* place to sell your creative wares, it's no wonder they offer a large selection of fonts and related designs for you to download. While not dirt cheap, the one thing I've noticed about Etsy is they offer a lot of font bundles for super-low prices. This is helpful to have if you are looking to change up the lettering slightly between headings and main text. Here are two that I found to be super cute:

Strangelove –; $12

Ravishing –; $12

As I’ve mentioned, I was asked to speak at BlogHer14 this past July.
